Good afternoon,

Last week was a very busy week as well as this week coming!!!

Here are some highlights from last week-

1. We had another opportunity to attend the Starr Gymnastics workshop. Fun was had by all!

2. Math- we continue to look at how to make change. Students have been working hard with partners to find various strategies to make change.

We have looked at using open number line

0                                                    $2.75                                                                           $5.00

Sue wants to buy a toy for $2.75 and she gives the cashier $5.00. What is her change?

Ask your child if he/she would know how to show their thinking using a number line!

This week we will be looking at how to add and subtract dollar amounts.
I encourage everyone to keep practicing at home as this an essential skill!!!

This week!!!

1. Spelling test and math test from last Friday will be done on Monday!!! I will send home both tests on Tuesday for signatures.
There will be a spelling and math test on Thursday this week!

2 Math- more practice with money. I will be assessing throughout the week.

3. Report cards go home on Thursday. If you have any questions please indicate that you would like a phone call from me. Thank you.

4. French Pathways Information Night- Tuesday Feb. 11th at 5:30-6:30pm. This is a great opportunity to get additional information about the French programs for next year. Hope to see you there!

5. Pizza and Subway orders are available on Cash online. Last day to order is Feb. 19th.

6. Extra clothing/mitts/socks- there is a lot of snow in our school yard and students get very wet during those 3 recesses. Please ensure your child has their snowpants, hat and mitts for the day. Extra mitts and socks are helpful to have in their backpacks as well!

7. Ronald McDonald House fundraiser- Thursday is PJ day! As per the note that went home we are looking for a $2 donation from students. All money raised will be sent to the Ronald McDonald House foundation. Thank you for your support.

8. PD day on Friday- No school!

Have a great week everyone! Stay warm!
